Arbitare + (Residence+Studio+Workshop)

The houseThe owner who is a well known stainglass artist plan to
build a place where her two daughters can live and work
and also a place for meditation. With different intersts
and characters of users, the design reflects in finding
common interests in art and design, and natural light
and ventilation in common space, leaving personal
space customized to individual needs.
To meet the goals, 2 main skin materials are chosen:
ventilation block and expanded metal sheet, for walls
and opening facades. Both materials work not only for
creating space with natural light and ventilation, but also
for creating external playful compositions with some
extra touch with landscape
Besides the requirements, there is also the radical
condition of the site which is mainly on the erosion of
the site which locate next to the canal. The design must
deal with protection and building at the same time.
